Manners

It was my god-son's 6th birthday party today. They had a small-ish party at one of those huge kids play centres. Great idea, that play centre was fantastic. Atti had a great time, mostly. He was especially adorable with my god-son's younger brother. But the bit that I found the most wonderful was the 5 minutes where he sat patiently, hands folded, waiting politely until he was given a piece of cake after the song and candles bit. I was astonished.

Daycare has been worth every single cent. Because it is the only place he has ever had to wait his turn for food, so it has to be there that he has learnt that he will get a piece of cake, there is no need to carry on, just wait and someone will give you a piece sooner or later.

Magnificent moment as a mum. Youngest kid there, best behaved at the table.
